Manbij IDPs leave al-Hol Camp

Today, 105 Manbij Syrian IDP families living in the al-Hol Camp, in eastern Hasaka, left the camp in implementation of the decision passed by the Autonomous Administration proscribing exiting all Syria's North Eastern  IDPs.

The al-Hol Camp is one of the biggest in North Eastern Syria and of the most dangerous worldwide due to housing extremist ISIS families.

On January 28th, 2021, the ninth batch left the camp composed of 67 families, made up of 236 persons, most notably from Manbij and rural areas.

This comes in line with the decision taken on October 10th, 2020, by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria based on the meeting held on October 5th, 2020, between the Autonomous Administration, Syria' Democratic Council, Work and Social Affairs Body and that of Interior.  

Today's is 12th, made up of 245 persons of 105 families most notably women and children from the city of Manbij after all given documents were verified and that they belong to the destination to go. 

Next batches are being enrolled to leave the camp in the coming days, as noted by the management of the camp.

As usual, security forces escort the batches until the reach destination, to be delivered to families.

Worth to note that on February 7th, it was announced by the SDF Media Office that a person was captured in a joint operation carried out with the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS was working as a smuggler for ISIS families out of the camp.

In addition to that, one of ISIS elements was killed by security forces in clashes with security forces on January 8th, 2021 after all bids to catch him fell to the ground.
