Under the slogan "Stop Isolation, Denial and Betrayal ... It Is Tim for Freedom and Dropping the February 15th Plot" today, Afrin Canton Council organized a demonstration today condemning the international conspiracy that targeted the leader on February 15, 1999.

Tens of thousands of residents of Afrin region gathered on the road between the town of Babens and Fafin district, waving black flags to express that it was a black day for them, and pictures of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, in addition to signs with “The resistance of the leader in Imrali is a global resistance”, “Rojava’s sun shines in Imrali, “We condemn and denounce the international conspiracy against the leader Ocalan,” “You will not be able to block our sun” written on.

The demonstration began with chanting slogans saluting the resistance of leader Apo in Imrali prison, the resistance of the People’s Defense Forces that defeated the Turkish aggression against Garê, and slogans denouncing the international conspiracy against the leader Abdullah Ocalan.

With the arrival of the demonstrators to the Driving School’s yard located in Fafin district in al-Shahba canton, the people held a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs of freedom, followed by a recording of the leader Ocalan's speech about the policies practiced by the capitalist countries to eliminate the Kurdish, Syriac, Assyrian and Arab peoples, and the need to unite the Kurdish people with all its sects to expel the occupier out of Kurdistan.

After that, the Member of the Executive Committee of the Democratic Union Party, Hadiyya Youssef, said: “The capitalist countries know that the thought and philosophy of the leader Abdullah Ocalan and the people rallying around him will foil their policies in the Middle East and Kurdistan in particular, so that they began planning a conspiracy against him to limit the spread of his thought and philosophy.”

Hadiyya Youssef continued her speech, saying: “Their first plans were to restore the policy they had practiced against the Kurdish revolutions in the past; assassinating the leaders of the revolution, launching military operations and putting pressure on the revolutionaries to surrender, but because of the spread of the thought and philosophy of the leader Abdullah Ocalan and emphasis on the necessity of resistance, these countries could not do what they were planning for, so they planned a major international conspiracy against him, which included 52 countries to arrest the leader and put him in prison far from the events, and imposed severe isolation on him.”

Hadiyya Youssef continued her speech by saying: “On February 15, 1999, despite the leader’s request from countries that claim democracy and human rights, humanitarian asylum, they refused, so the leader got victim to the conspiracy led by Turkey and America.”

She added, “The leader's response to this conspiracy was to launch the democratic nation’s project to solve the problems that capitalism creates, in order to be a slap to those who planned that plot.”

Hadiyya Youssef explained: "We know that the conspiracy has not achieved its goal. Therefore, until now, they are seeking in various ways to support their conspiracy. The aggression waged by the Turkish occupation with the approval of Russia and the United States on Rojava, Shengal and the mountains of Kurdistan confirms that their goal has not and will not be achieved.”

She emphasized that “the resistance of the People’s Defense Forces in Heftanin, Garê and all the mountains of Kurdistan and the resistance of the people in Rojava is the victory in itself over the plot.”

At the end of her speech, Hadiyya Youssef called on all human rights organizations and unions to intervene immediately and release the free peoples’ leader Abdullah Ocalan.
