Syrian Observatory: New ambush of ISIS targeted government forces in Badia

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that on Monday, ISIS mercenaries carried out a new ambush targeting a military convoy of the government forces, the Palestinian "Al-Quds" Brigade group loyal to them and the Russians, near Faydah Ibn Muwaina area in Al-Mayadeen desert, east of Deir Ezzor, while the convoy was combing the area.

According to the Syrian Observatory, violent clashes erupted between the two sides, causing heavy casualties, the largest since the beginning of this year, and the second largest toll since the return of the mercenaries to the Syrian front after an ambush at the end of last year, during which 39 members of the Damascus government and the forces loyal to it were killed.

The Syrian Observatory documented the killing of 26 members of the government, the militants loyal to it and Al-Quds Brigade in the ambush, and others were wounded of varying degrees, some of them in serious cases, which suggests a high death toll, and 11 ISIS mercenaries were killed during the outbreak of clashes.

According to the Syrian Observatory, huge military reinforcements of the Damascus government forces and the National Defense Militia left Al-Mayadeen towards the area of clashes this morning.
