An official source at the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said that the latter "rejects altogether the order by the head of the Turkish regime to open a medical college and a higher institute for Medical Sciences linked to the Turkish Istanbul-based University of Health Sciences in the town of Al-Ra'i in the countryside of Aleppo Governorate and confirms that this order constitutes action." It aims to expand the Turkish regime's control over the lands under the sovereignty of Syria, which constitutes a gross violation of international law and the UN's Charter.

The source added, "This illegal order constitutes a continuation of the series of illegal measures by the Turkish regime since 2011 to ignite and perpetuates the crisis in Syria, back the terrorist parties and organizations such as (the Muslim Brotherhood), (ISIS) and (Jabhat Al-Nusra) and others to serve the agendas and interests of the Erdogan regimes' geopolitical for realizing his Ottoman ambitions and illusions at the expense of the Syrians, and to boost his occupation of parts of the Syrian territories and impose his laws on the lands he controls.

The source added that the Damascus government affirms that "these assaults against Syrian sovereignty, including building the so-termed (the Separation Wall), imposing the Turkish policies in schools, dealing in Turkish lira, and opening a Turkish post office, were the excuses behind which, this regime was concealed to justify its terrorist practices.

The source explained that "the practices of the Turkish regime have formed over the past years, a flagrant model of disregard for the lowest civilized and moral values, international law and the United Nations Charter. This regime did not leave any crime without supporting extremism and terrorism, incitement to violence and hatred, and the recruitment and smuggling of foreign terrorist fighters, and providing them with support, which is what it is imperative for the international community in general and the Security Council in particular to take all measures stipulated by international law and the United Nations Charter to stop these disgraceful behaviors.

The government of Damascus called on the Security Council to "fulfill its responsibilities in maintaining international peace and security to put an end to the described crimes of the Turkish regime against the Syrians and put an end to the Turkish regime's attacks on them."
