Turkish occupation's crimes are shown on Afrin children faces, bodies

Korjin, Avrin, Monzer and Khoshnav Ali are four children who did not commit a sin except that they are Kurdish for the Turkish war machine to target them. Korjin was subsequently martyred, and turned the lives of the remaining three siblings into pains that will accompany them throughout their lives.

The four-year-old child Khoshnaf asks that a photograph be taken for him with a camera, thinking that the camera will erase the distortions that have accompanied his face since his first year of life.

As for Avrin, she is ashamed of sitting in front of the guests because she cannot help her mother in serving them because her lower limbs do not help her to move, so she is satisfied with a smile and hides her face thinking that she has committed something inappropriate.

The third child Monzer shows the sign of victory in his hand with his loss of the pinky and ring finger while smiling, and wants to draw attention to the blow he received in his head, which made him suffer from it until this moment.

The three brothers, despite their deep wounds, miss their sister Korjin, whose body remained in Afrin city without saying goodbye to each other. This is what the Turkish occupation did to them by targeting them with an artillery shell, turning their lives into endless pain.

In this report, we highlight the crime committed against the family of the citizen Abdel Rahman Ali at the hands of the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries.

March 13th is a damned day

During the Turkish occupation's invasion of Afrin canton, Abdel Rahman Ali's family, who are residents of Janders district, were forced to flee towards the canton center, fearing the brutality of the Turkish occupation, so the family took shelter in one of the homes of their relatives in Mahmudiyah neighborhood until the situation calmed down. On one of the days of March, the family composed of six people moved to Ashrafieh neighborhood, like the rest of the Afrin families, escaping the horror of the bombing of the occupation warplanes that did not use to leave the sky.

The housewife of the family, Jenat, from Qarmilq village, refused to speak on camera because the painful memories accompanying her made the words insufficient to describe the crimes committed by the occupation against her family.

Jenat described her third decade on March 13, 2018 as the cursed, and said: "The Turkish shelling of the canton center intensified on the 13th of March. We no longer differentiated between the sounds of aircrafts and shells, so we went out of the house looking for a safe place, and while we were leaving, I saw nothing but black smoke and felt that I ran aground."

The scene that Jenat did not see was the falling of one of the artillery shells of the Turkish occupation that rained down on Afrin canton directly near them, causing the martyrdom of two children, who were her daughter Korjin who was 7 years old at the time, and the son of her relative Mohamed Kamiran Qeshla, 5 years old.

The shell shrapnel paralyzed her other daughter Avrin who was 5 years old at the time, as a result of her spinal cord injury, which paralyzed her lower limbs.

As for Monzer, 4-year-old, he was hit in the head, and the shrapnel shattered the skull and caused a concussion in the brain, which required the installation of plates in the head to protect the brain from trauma, according to the report of the attending physician, in addition to the loss of two fingers from his left hand and the spread of shrapnel in his body.

As for the child Khoshnav, who was one year old at the time, the shell burned his face after fire broke out in the cover that was covering him, and the doctor described his burns as serious and included in the third degree, and his young age during his injury made him enter into a state of shock that affected his growth.

As for the mother Jenat, she was hit by shrapnel all over her body, to the extent that some of it is still present in her body as done with her cousin Zaida Mohamed Ali, whose son Kamiran was martyred in this horrific massacre.

The family was not able to bury their daughter, but their relatives in Afrin buried her body in the canton before its occupation by the Turkish occupation army.

Wounds would not be healed

We were able to meet the grandmother of the children and the mother of the citizen Jenat, who is the citizen Jamila Majid Taher from Cheqela village of Afrin canton, who has been accompanying her daughter Jenat in the hospital and has been working to help her in serving her injured children since three years.

Jamila says that she separated from her daughter after she went to the Ashrafieh neighborhood, and that the Turkish bombing of the communication towers led to a break in communication between her and her daughter, but she learned about her injury through the news bulletin presented by Ronahi T.V channel.

Jamila added: "I rushed to the hospital with everything in my power to support my daughter and her wounded children, and upon my arrival, I was shocked by the incident, so the doctors at Avrin Hospital immediately referred them to Aleppo city to receive treatment as a result of their deep wounds that would not heal."

Jamila added: "As soon as the family arrived in Aleppo city, the Damascus government checkpoints arrested Abdel Rahman, the head of the family, under the pretext that he had reserve of military service, ignoring the tragedy of his family which was in dire need of him."

A humanitarian plea for help

Jamila notes that the cost of the surgeries has burdened her daughter's family, as each of her children has undergone at least 5 operations, the average cost of which is around 350,000 Syrian pounds, and until now, three years after the crime that was committed against them, children's injuries are still sustainable.

The child Avrin is the most affected as a result of her spinal cord injury, and her condition requires surgical operation for stem cell transplantation, and such operations are only performed in other countries.

At the end of her speech, the citizen Jamila wished that the people of Afrin and their children would return to their city after its liberation from the Turkish occupation and hold it accountable for its crimes, appealing to every humanitarian soul to support children to treat them from the deformities left by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.
