Eyewitness: National Defense used civilians as human shields, attacked ISF checkpoint

This afternoon, a checkpoint of the Internal Security Forces came under fire by the forces of the Damascus government and its National Defense Militia in the Marsho neighborhood in the city of Hasakah in northern and eastern Syria, and within the framework of their right to legitimate defense, the Internal Security Forces (ISF) responded to the sources of fire, where clashes broke out, during which one member of the government forces was killed and 3 others were wounded.

(M.A.) One of the witnesses to the demonstration in the security square explained to our correspondent that he was present inside the security square with his sister to meet their daily needs, and said: “The civilians were meeting after being forced by the Military Security and the National Defense to participate in the demonstration against the “Autonomous Administration ”, using violent methods and offensive words.

(M.A.) continued his speech: “Several minutes after we refused to participate in the demonstration, members of the National Defense and Military Security Forces of the Damascus government fired at a checkpoint of the Internal Security Forces, near the Mashro roundabout, randomly, despite the presence of civilians, using all heavy weapons. (M.A.) noted that the National Defense Forces tried to prevent them from leaving the security square to use them as human shields to protect themselves.
