Shengali notable and sheiks: we will never leave our mountain

Yazidi notables and religious sheikhs of the Shengal Province called on the Yazidi community to stand up to the Turkish threats, saying '' if the Iraqi Government does not protect it's sovereignty and paves the way for Turkey, this is not our case, for we will never leave our mountain and will resist''.

SHENGAL

Turkish Occupations time and again voices the intention to occupy Shengal, the last of which was on January 22^nd, as Erdogan finished the Friday prayer in Istanbul, he declared openly the intention to occupy Shengal.

In this relation, responding to Erdogan, Yazidi notables and religious sheikhs of the Shengal Province, released a statement in which it was made clear that the aim of the Turkish State is a very well-known one, for it adopts the path of the bloody Ottoman Empire, adding that they ought to defend their soil and sanctuaries.

The statement that was read by Sheikh Dexil Murad, at the Martyrs Dilgesh and Berxedan, reads as follows:

''we all know very well to what that the so-called Turkish State aspires, it's history is full of darkness, massacres and genocides, that were all carried out against peoples of the region such the Armenian Genocide, and Firmans against Yazids and Alawites, from thence it aspires to occupy Shengal as a fulfillment of their Ottoman ancestors and to massacre the Yazidi people''.

''we address the Iraqi Government that ought to preserve security and sovereignty of Iraq, that we in Shengal are never afraid of the Turkish threats as our forefathers were, at any cost''.

The statement called on Yazids to defend Shengal, and to establish organization, '' all political parties and military forces ought to bear national and religious duty and to stand up to the attacks''.

After the statement was read, Feqir Resho, Yazidi man of religion, delivered a speech to the Yazid community saying: in the course of history, many hostile powers, of whom Turkey, carried out attacks against Shengal, but we did not surrender, instead we stood up to all that, hence, every Yazid ought to resist''.

Resho addressed the Iraqi Government saying'' if you are unable to protect the Iraqi sovereignty, and paving the way for Turkey, we will not leave our mountain''.

From his part, Hesen Sherif, a Shengali notable, made a speech saying '' every Yazidi everywhere ought to revolt for the sake of Ezidxan, our youth must join resistance, they take Kurdistan Workers' Party as a pretext, and that the Guerrilla Forces are in Shengal, they are not here, but if needed we would call them to defend Shengal''.

While Shemo Khudida, a notable, said '' Shengal is not as it was prior to ISIS offensive, whoever dares to enter our lands and desecrate our sanctuaries, would be repelled, whatever is the Turkish pretext it aims to eradicate Yasidism, to which it will fail''.
