This came through a statement issued by the Office of Displaced Persons, Refugees and Afflicted Affairs in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) commenting on the recent UN's office report regarding the conditions of Al-Hol camp, and the statement said:

"On January 22, a statement was received from the United Nations Office for Humanitarian Affairs about the worsening situation in Al-Hol camp, located in NE Syria. Here, at a time, we value the UN institutions' follow-up of the conditions in the aforementioned camp, we, in turn remind all relevant institutions that the camp suffers from exacerbating matters, and there are still those seek to revive the ISIS, not to mention the extent of burden on the AANES's shoulders.

We affirm that the international cooperation with the Autonomous Administration is important and necessary, as this tragedy affects the whole world, and it is necessary to assume their responsibilities for this. It must also be clarified that after the recent Turkish occupation of the regions of Serêkaniyê (Ras al-Ain) and Girê Spî (Tal Abyad), he activity of ISIS cells has increased, especially in the areas that have been liberated recently from this terrorist organization, and it greatly affected the camp. There are those inside the camp that conduct field trials according to ISIS laws. ISIS practices, communication continues between those inside the camp and ISIS leaders who direct their members inside.

A number of ISIS cells have been arrested inside the camp, attempts to smuggle weapons were thwarted and the smuggling operations by regional parties, including Turkey, have been curbed.

The security challenge is great, and despite the limited capabilities, efforts are being made to complete the camp control process.

As for the situation of children, we confirm that there is no type of detention, especially forced detention, but attempts to teach the ISIS ideology are continuing by the women in the camp. With the principles advocated by the AANES, which is to keep children away from conflicts and provide a balanced environment for them and these matters, by virtue of the large number of children, constitute a great burden on the AANES.

The failure is evident on the part of the international organizations in supporting the attempts to rehabilitate and reject extremism and limit it, as well as in terms of maintaining security and the necessary support. We welcome any international cooperation in this field and in the field of controlling matters in the camp in general. We stress that urgent intervention will have an impact, this will help achieve important qualitative results for everyone who wants to fulfill their humanitarian and moral role and contribute to limiting the terrorism and extremism. We also affirm that the the camp suffering is a common issue between us and the international community and the whole world, including the United Nations. We affirm the need for support on all Levels and areas. Therefore, there must be support to solve this issue and help remove thousands of these people from the atmosphere of extremism and terrorism, as well as the countries that have citizens in the camp to cooperate with the Autonomous Administration and solve this complex issue in terms of security and logistical.
