Hussein said, "3 years on Turkey's occupation of Afrin in cooperation with its allies of the Syrian mercenaries, who have turned advocates of freedom to proxies by the Turkish state across the world."

Hussein added, "What the Turkish occupier and its mercenaries did in Afrin, no occupying country has ever done. Turkey committed massacres against the people of Afrin, and the international community and human rights organizations turned blind eye on this."

'Displacement of 200,000 people'

During his speech, Hussein said, "Turkey goes beyond the stage of occupation, and started ethnic cleansing against the Kurdish component in Afrin, since the occupation of Afrin." Afrin was bombed by more than 80 Turkish warplanes.

He went on saying, "The Turkish bombing resulted in the destruction of archaeological areas and infrastructure in the region, and added," The first thing they did when occupied it, displacing its people, as more than 200 thousand people became displaced in the neighboring villages. As for those who refused to go out, they were arrested over and over under the pretext of their cooperation with the Autonomous Administration or loyalty to the People's Protection Units in order to take the ransom.

He indicated that the mercenaries are still continuing to displace the people for settling the mercenary families of the Turkish occupation state and turning their homes into military barracks.

'Changing the cultural identity of Afrin'

He pointed out that "Turkey has worked on Turkification, that was done through the Turkish language, the Turkish flags, in addition to pictures of Erdogan and founders of the Ottoman state."

Hussein added, "The Turkish language has been imposed in schools and universities in Afrin region, and they are attached to Turkish universities, in addition to naming the city's streets and squares in Turkish, including Erdogan square and the Ottomans square."

Hussein noted that Turkey has replaced the Syrian identity cards with temporary ones by Turkish authorities.

He noted that, "Turkey has completely looted Afrin's goods, like olive oil, he added," The oil is sold on the world markets under Turkish brands and this opens the way for discussion that there are economic companies that legitimizes it for the Turkish occupation state. "

'Opening of crossings between Turkey and Afrin'

He indicated that after Turkey completely occupied Afrin, it built a separation wall between Afrin and its neighboring areas, fully annexing it to Turkey.

He added, "The Turkish occupation state opens illegal crossings between Turkey and Afrin to link the region completely economically with Turkey," adding, "All of these practices are greater than the occupation, as they are war crimes, methods of ethnic cleansing and genocide."

3 years on and the international community is silent'

During his speech, Hussein touched on the continued international silence about the crimes that it has committed by the Turkish occupation state.

He added, "Turkey would not have advanced to occupy Afrin if it had not been approved by superpowers such as Russia, America and other countries. The occupation of Afrin went on the complicity of the international community."

'Turkey is a trade-offs state

"Turkey is a deceptive state, so it can sell a people and region at the expense of another," he said.

I have a question about the new US policy, will it satisfy Turkey’s ambitions in Syria or not? Salam Hussein said, "For the new American administration, what matters are American interests, and its strategies. America is not a charity to meet the demands of the people of the region, as it did not come to liberate a people or expel an occupier from the region."

He added, "America is a global power, but the bad relations between Joe Biden and Erdogan can be invested in our favor, in liberating Afrin from the Turkish occupation."

'SDF resistance is a talk of Western society'

Salam Hussein continued saying, "The good image emanating from the American and Western society about the resistance of the Syrian Democratic Forces to terrorism and the democratic values in the region will constitute a pressure factor on the new US administration, and it can contribute to America's support for the SDF and the administration to consolidate it and expel the Turkish occupation from the region. "

Salam Hussein concluded his speech by saying, "We are working diligently at all levels, to remove the Turkish occupation from the region, and to return the indigenous people, whether in Afrin or other occupied areas."
