With the advent of the third annual anniversary of the Turkish assault on Afrin, a statement was released today by civil society associations and political parties, in which they considered the Turkish assault on Afrin as a retaliation for the attacks inflicted on ISIS mercenary groups in North Eastern Syria.

Members to civil society associations and political parties rallied today in the Serdem Camp in the Shahba Canton, where Hesen Dilo, indicated to the fraternity prevalent in Afrin prior to the Turkish Occupation, ''Afrin, city of olive, was that of peace and security that was home to thousands of Syrians of all backgrounds, and those fleeing battles that were ravaging Syria''.

By 73 aerial raids, the Turkish jets shelled all the canton, that caused fear and horror among children and women, as the Turkish artillery and tanks were killing civilians on the ground, hard-lined Islamic factions stormed the area each headed by an ISIS element that were fled the battles and embraced by Turkey, where they were trained and armed to head into Afrin to retaliate for the defeated organization, in a bid the Turkish state to give a new breath to the Ottoman Empire.

The statement paid tribute to the legendary resistance performed in Afrin against the Turkish Occupation Army by the Afrinian male and female youths, that lasted for 58 days, in which a canton just like a village in Turkey and defenders armed with light weapons were able to stand up to the second largest NATO ally'', and that the Turkish assault on Afrin was carried out amid an ''international shameful and suspicious silence, that made Turkey more intransigent to use every evil species of internationally prohibited weapons, and gave an impetus to the mercenary groups affiliated to the Turkish Occupation Forces to penetrate the canton in big numbers, and demolish everything, historical sites, shrines, that made officials of the Autonomous Administration to call on people to leave the canton into Shahba, to live in camps''.

The statement went on to indicate to the demographic change taking place on the ground in Afrin and bringing in by the Turkish Occupation Forces of thousands of Syrian families from Inland Syria as well as Turkmen, Uighur and Chechens after the indigenous people being expelled'', calling on the international and all concerned human rights associations and the related countries to react as human and ethic morals imply that, and to pput an end to the Turkish Occupation and for the people to return home''.
