The U.S. President Trump announced that he would deliver a speech in Washington, in front of his supporters whom he called for to demonstrate in protest against a session held by Congress on the same day to officially ratify his defeat in the presidential elections, while the security forces got prepared as the protests are likely to be punctuated by violence.

For his part, the president-elect said that he would deliver a speech from his stronghold in Wilmington, Delaware, after a meeting with his economic team.

Trump said: "Mike Pence (U.S. Vice-President) must restore the votes to the states and we will win. Do it Mike, this is time of utmost courage."

In a second tweet, he added: "The states need to correct their voices, knowing that they are based on violations ... the Republican Party and the most important our country needs the presidency more than ever."

Trump, during the past hours, increased his pressure on Pence to make efforts to reverse the results of the presidential elections during the Congress meeting scheduled for today, and to try to keep them in office for another 4 years.

The U.S. Congress in its two chambers is scheduled to meet later on Wednesday evening, in order to certify the results of the electoral college vote, or those known to the major voters who most chose Biden, and this is the last step before the inauguration of the president-elect on January 20.
