Turkish shelling hinders accessing strategic stock of wheat to Ain Issa people

Al-Mushirfah silos are being consecutively shelled by Turkish occupation since 6 weeks.

Al-Mushrifah silos of Ain Issa, which has capacity of 12,000 tons, are located 2 kilometers north of the district, 500 meters from the M4 international road, and about 5,400 tons were stored in it for this year, as a strategic stock for the district.

The concerned authorities bring approximately 650 tons per month from these silos, to supply the 6 bakeries in Ain Issa district with flour.

According to the concerned authorities, since the 18th of last month, they have not been able to reach the silos area because it has been bombed by the Turkish occupier and its mercenaries on a daily basis, and these authorities are working to compensate for the shortage by bringing flour form al- Jalabiyya district of Kobani canton.

Al-Mushrifah silos are the only silo remaining in the countryside of Girê Spi district, after Turkey’s occupation of each of the “Shirkrak, al-Dahliz and al-Sakhrat” silos, and the remaining quantity is estimated at 2,100 tons.

It should be noted that the recent intentional Turkish bombing of al-Mushrifah silos, Ain Issa, has resulted in great damage to the electrical cables and transformers that feed them in the storage process. All requests submitted by the Electricity Directorate in the district to the Russian base for protection of emergency workshops to repair silo breakdowns were rejected.
