ISF in N. E. Syria reveal outcome of their actions during 2020

In 2020, the Internal Security Forces in northern and eastern Syria focused their efforts on combating ISIS cells and various mercenary groups, as well as combating networks aimed at striking the culture of society by promoting drugs and targeting the young group.

In the presence of a wide media outlets presence, the Internal Security Forces (ISF) in northern and eastern Syria revealed, today, the outcome of their actions during the year 2020, at a press conference held in the town of Rumaylan in Qamishlo canton.

The statement of the Internal Security Forces in northern and eastern Syria was read by the official spokesman for the Internal Security Forces in northern and eastern Syria, Ali Al-Hassan.

With approaching New Year ,2021, and at the end of the 7th year of establishing of our forces (Internal Security Forces) in NE, Syria, we are blessing to our people in coming of new year, pledging allegiance to work hard to spread security and stability in the region, wishing to be new year is full with triumph, deter plots and all schemes that aim to undermine the people's will, we renewed our pledge to be hard shield and watchful eye to preserve the gains of the people and revolution that have been achieved by sacrifices of our martyrs.

The residents who are living in Girê Spî /Tal-Abyed, Serêkaniyê / Ras al-Ain and Afrin are exposed to brutal attacks on daily basis, forcing them to displace, in addition to Turkish occupation and its gangs have looted their properties and rights, who were members of terrorist organizations bloody and brutal as Daesh and others, as a duplicate scenario Daesh and emergence terrorists' organizations with new model, where many files have documented in practicing violence against woman and children, which reached to stage of enslavement in occupied area. 

The international community remains silent in front of these crimes, hoping that there will be international action, an effective role, and firm stances towards these crimes and the continuous bombing of the town of Ain Issa to this day, resulting in killing women, children and elderly.

The year 2020 witnessed important events, the most prominent of which was the launch of our forces' combing campaigns and combating sleeper cells throughout NE, Syria, as dozens of terrorist cells that wreaked havoc in society and affiliated with various hostile parties were dissolved in addition to the confiscation of hundreds of weapons, explosive materials, detonators and silencers, and the arrest of leaders and officials of the terrorist cells, and the hostile parties were not satisfied with their classic war against our regions, but rather sought a special war with which to target the customs and traditions of our people, so they worked to introduce drugs and extraneous habits to target the young group, so that our forces carried out during this year a special campaign to combat drugs that included NE, Syria in general and it had positive results Where many narcotic substances were seized and dozens of criminal networks transferred to the Public Prosecution.

We, as an Internal Security Force, affirm that our departments have worked and are working continuously in fulfillment of the duty entrusted to them. Our forces have achieved a 15% increase in the number of members in addition to the continuation of our specialized academies, which numbered 22 academies spread in all regions of north and east Syria, by graduating general and specialized courses, which reached a number of 75 sessions included 4,596 members and female members, while 35 of our members were martyred, and 74 members were injured in various injuries.

In our role as ISF, and from the people of these regions with its various components, we inform you of the work of our forces over a whole year throughout northern and eastern Syria, which are as follows according to the departments and specializations:

The fight against crime:

Our anti-crime forces were able to detect multiple and different crimes according to the following statistics:

153 premeditated murder

115 attempted murder

59 suicides

190 Falsification of papers and proof

74 coin fraud

132 Impersonation

74 cases of fraud

402 human smuggling operations

129 fuel smuggling operations

86 smuggling of prohibited items

865 thefts

60 lashing operations

28 cases of rape

29 kidnappings

45 cases of administrative corruption

As for drugs, the number of detainees in drug files reached 933, including:

- 183 dealers

896 drug users

483 promoters

Seizing a large number of narcotic substances, their statistics are as follows:

- Narcotic pills totaled 774 thousand and 754 pills; one ton and 209 thousand kilos and 294 grams of hashish, in addition to 378 coffees of hashish, 3,500 seedlings of hashish, 3,101 grams of crystal narcotic substance and 415 grams of narcotic heroin.

Note that our campaign against drugs, "The Life is Responsibility Campaign," continues until 6/26/2021, which coincides with the International Day for Drug Control.

Archeology and excavation dealers have reached 190 detainees divided into 76 networks in their possession of 5,355 artifacts, the majority of which are forged. 2,440 artifacts were received from a resident of Raqqa, which he kept, for fear of being stolen by ISIS terrorists while they belong to the Archaeological Museum of Raqqa.

As for counterfeiting currency, the crime prevention seized 359 thousand and 310 counterfeit US dollars, and one million 559 thousand and 400 counterfeit Syrian pounds.

Public Security Agency:

The number of cells captured was 106 terrorist cells, and the number of those arrested was 321 who worked with these cells, and our areas were subjected to 269 bombings, and the General Security Agency carried out 58 joint security operations with the International Coalition.

Checkpoint security:

The total number of checkpoints reached 345, the number of new barriers reached 21, and two new points for road security were added, bringing the total number of road security points to eight.

Custody and prisons:

The number of detainees in Al-Raqqa region reached 9,892 detainees and 7,169 released.

The number of detainees in Al-Jazeera region is 11,471, and 10398 have been released.

In Deir Ezzor province, the number of detainees was 1,240, and the number of released was 1,073.

The number of detainees in the Euphrates region reached 1,114, and 1,215 were released.

In Manbij, the number of detainees was 4,097, and 4,020 were released.

Emergency and ambulance teams:

The number of cases received in all clinics is 14,326 cases, and the response to 2,348 ambulance missions and 91 traffic accidents, in addition to 40 fire cases.

Mine engineering:

391 improvised explosive devices, mines, 21 explosive belts were dismantled, 271 explosive shells and bombs were removed, in addition to two motorcycles.

Traffic Police:

Traffic Police achieved an increase of 5% in the number of members, and the number of centers reached 47 centers and one training academy.

One driving school was opened during this year, bringing the total number of schools to eight schools. These schools included 163 educational courses through which 16,678 privacy certificates and 9,033 public certificates were granted. Traffic signs were placed throughout our regions, which reached 1262 traffic signs in addition to activating 17 radar points. .

Relief Forces:

The number of reports received from the families is 8,117

Number of emergency power centers: 25 centers

Internal Security Forces -Women

The Internal Security Forces-Women had many activities and events in 2020, the most important of which was the establishment of training and qualification committees for women in the provinces of Raqqa and Al-Jazeera, and several offices of the Internal Security Forces for women were activated in Deir Ezzor region.

The number of members increased by 27%, two members rose to the rank of martyrdom, and three members were wounded.

In addition, 744 female members underwent various training and specialization courses in three women's academies.

Five new centers were established: they are distributed in the northern and eastern regions of Syria, including one in Manbij, one in Jazira region, and three centers in the Raqqa region, and the activation of women's rescue forces in Kobani and Manbij.

Meanwhile, the Internal Security Forces for Women issued their own bi-annual magazine, in addition to holding an annual meeting for women.

The total statistics that the Internal Security Forces have worked on for women are as follows:

Complaints received 7,467 complaints.

Five cases of drug abuse

78 murders and 21 cases where the woman was the perpetrator and 57 cases in which the woman was the victim in addition to 23 cases of attempted murder and 25 suicides.

Suicide attempts reached 54 cases.

There are six operations for forgery of paper documents, and one forging one currency

As for the immoral operations, they amounted to 35 operations as well as 5 cases of impersonation and one fraud.

There were also two cases of administrative corruption, 27 cases of robbery, 6 cases of rape, and three cases of attempted rape.

The number of female detainees was 1807, and the number of women was 1,291.

With this, we renew the pledge to our people to be fully prepared to do our duty to protect them, defend them and guarantee their rights, and to preserve the private and public property of the people.

We also congratulate, on behalf of the General Command of the Internal Security Forces in northern and eastern Syria, all components of our people on Christmas and New Year, hoping that this year will be full of love and peace.
