No Iraqis were in Sere Kaniye prior to Turkish Occupation

Co-chair of the Peoples' Municipality in Sere Kaniye, Luqman Issa, has made clear that prior to the Turkish Invasion, there has never been Iraqi families in Sere Kaniye, and those families that are being settled their have entered the city via Turkey's allowance.

A circular was released by the so-called Local Council affiliated to the Turkish Occupation Forces in the city of Sere Kaniye, to give IDs to the Iraqi refugees, in a bid to change the demography of the region via such types of settlement.

In this relation ANHA interviewed co-chair of the Peoples' Municipality in city of Sere Kaniye, Luqman Issa, who said:'' prior to the Turkish Invasion, the city of Sere Kaniye was as a mosaic, made up of all components and sects of North and East Syria''.

Issa added :'' prior to October 9^th, 2019, there has never been an Iraqi refuge family in the city of Sere Kaniye, all indigenous people of the Sere Kaniye know that those families that are being settled in the city by the Local Council entered the city after ISIS mercenary groups affiliated to the Turkish Occupation Forces controlled the city''.

Issa made clear that :'' Turkey's aim of this is to confer citizenship on the Iraqi refugees that were affiliated to the ISIS mercenary groups, to change the demographic situation of the region, and to build up the so-called National Army just for the sake of the interests of the Turkish Occupation State, for this aim Iraqi refugee families are being settled in the occupied areas such as Afrin, al-Bab, Azaz, and Gire Spi'', noting that the aim of this is to show that all people in the region live together peacefully.

At the end of his speech, co-chair of the Peoples' Municipality in Sere Kaniye, Luqman Issa, called on all international associations and the human rights concerned bodies to stop the demographic change taking place in the region and to spare no effort to expel Turkish Occupation Forces and the affiliated mercenary groups from the region for the indigenous people to return home.
