Every day at 7:00. Ahmed, 14, goes to the field to release his two goats onto pastures, as he passes close to his school that has never been a gathering spot for students rather a target for the Turkish Occupation Forces and the affiliated mercenaries.

Since the Turkish invasion on the north eastern Syria on October 9th, 2019, Zarghan has become a frontline with the Turkish Occupation Forces and the affiliated mercenaries.

Zarghan District is some 30km to the eastern side of the occupied city of Sere Kaniye, and some 75 km from the city of Hasaka, and just one km from the frontline between Turkish Occupation Forces and the Syrian Government Forcers that were deployed to the town.

The area undergoes relentless bombardment and direct targeting on daily bases by the Turkish Occupation Forces and the affiliated mercenaries, as Syrian Government Forces and the Russian Military Police never react to shelling as they just preserve silence.

There are five schools in the town of Zarghan, that go on target on daily bases by the mercenaries, as two of them are on the frontline to which they are out of duty, while the other schools receive few students due to the insecurity in the area, as families fear shelling and bombardment by Turkish Occupation Forces and the affiliated mercenaries.

According to statistics released by the schools managements in the town of Zarghan, at least 6741 male and female students are deprived of schooling this year, as 40 out of 81 schools were opened in villages and towns of the district, as some were occupied by Turkish Occupation Forces and others were transformed into military bases, and other are on the frontline.

Nasrine Ali, an administrator in the schools of the Zarghan District, has said that schooling in the area is catastrophic in light of attacks and shelling by Turkish Occupation Forces and the affiliated mercenaries directly and constantly.

Nasrine said:'' the border area undergoes shelling and bombardment on daily bases, and the schooling in the area is so dire, as number of students reduces day after another, due to attacks and fears of the families to that''.

Nasrine called on the Russian guarantor that was a partner to the ceasefire agreement to play the supposed role, and put an end to the Turkish attacks on the region of Zarghan to pave the way for students to return to their desks.
