The Young Women's Union condemned the practices and crimes committed by the Turkish occupation state against women, including the crime of assaulting a girl-child in Batman, Bakur Kurdistan, during a demonstration.

Under the slogan "No to Aggression and Occupation, Yes to Society and Free Women," the Young Women's Union in the city of Qamishlo organized a demonstration denouncing violence against women and the practices of the Turkish state against them.

Dozens of members of the Young Women's Union and the people of Qamishlo participated in the demonstration which started in front of the Mohamed Sheikho Center for Culture and Art, and headed towards the Qarmouti Roundabout located west of the city, chanting slogans "No to Violence Against Women," "No to Turkish Occupation," "Long Live the Leader Abdullah Ocalan's Resistance," "Yes to Free Women," "No to Treachery," holding the flags of the Young Women's Union and pictures of the leader Abdullah Ocalan.

Upon the arrival of the demonstration at the Qarmouti Roundabout, the demonstrators held for a minute of silence, and then made a statement read by the member of the Young Women's Union, Salwa Ali.

In the statement, Salwa Ali denounced the attacks targeting women in Kurdistan, in particular the heinous crime committed by members of the Turkish state against a girl-child in Batman region, and said: "The Turkish occupation's attacks on women are attacks on all society."

On behalf of all members of the Young Women's Union, Salwa assured that they will stand up to all attacks on women in the world, and every occupier in Kurdistan.
