Hundreds of Qamishlo residents demonstrated today to denounce the positions and movements of the Kurdistan Democratic Party hostile to the Kurdish issue, and the Şengal Agreement concluded between the governments of Baghdad and Hewler.

Residents gathered in front of the March 12 stadium in Qamishlo, chanting slogans condemning the plans of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, "No to betrayal" and "Long live the Şengal resistance."

The demonstrators roamed the city’s streets, carrying banners that read, "No to the brethren fighting ... it is time for national unity."

The demonstrators gathered in front of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in the city of Qamishlo, where the co-chair of the Democratic Union Party in Qamishlo Masoud Daoud gave a speech in which he said, "While the Kurdish people are aspiring for unity, and hopes are increasing for a political reference for them to obtain their stolen rights, the Kurdistan Democrat in Başûr Kurdistan and its attack on the “Guerrilla” forces in the city of Amadiyeh in Dohuk show KDP betrayal of the Kurds and its support for the Turkish state.

Daoud stressed the need for the Kurds to take tougher stances regarding the movements and plots of the KDP in Başûr Kurdistan, and said: “The Kurds throughout Kurdistan and all over the world must show their positions condemning the betrayal of the KDP, and they must resist in order to achieve Kurdish unity.”

The demonstration ended with chanting slogans calling for Kurdish unity and denouncing treason.

A number of cities and regions of Rojava witnessed demonstrations and protest activities denouncing the recent positions of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) regarding Şengal, as well as the mobilization of military forces in the areas of Guerrilla in southern Kurdistan.
