Sheikhs denounce role of Russian guarantor

The sheikhs of the Arab clans in Raqqa condemned the Russian silence about the Turkish occupation's attacks on the town of Ain Issa, the nibbling policy practiced by the occupying power, and the Russians ’lack of respect for the charters and agreements signed with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

For weeks, the Turkish occupation has been trying to occupy Ain Issa district, north of Raqqa, supported by its proxy mercenaries of the so-called "National Army". The town witnessed shelling and fire preparation with various types of light and heavy weapons. This included several attempts to breach by the mercenaries who suffered heavy losses.

The attempt comes after the withdrawing the Turkish observation points in the areas controlled by the Syrian government in Idlib and Hama, which confirms a Turkish-Russian deal about the Autonomous Administration areas.

In an interview with some Arab tribal sheikhs in Raqqa, who questioned the guarantor role by Russia for the ceasefire between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Turkish occupation, after the occupation of Ras al-Ain and Tal Abyad, yet the Russians keep silent about the Turkish bombing and the occupation of villages adjacent to the town.

Turki Al-Sawan added, "We stand hand in hand with all components in northeast Syria behind the Syrian Democratic Forces, and we are not advocates of war, but we will defend our land as much as possible and by all means."

For his part, the notable of the Al-Ali clan, Sheikh Ramadan Al-Rahhal, affirmed, "We will not surrender an inch of our lands, as we have fought terrorism starting from Ain Issa, which represents for us a symbol as the first region liberated by the Syrian Democratic Forces. The Russians must respect the charters and agreements, and the international community must also strive for more among the measures to stop Erdogan's occupation policy. "

And Al-Rahhal added, "The whole world must support us, for we are the ones who saved them from ISIS terrorism, and provided for the sake of liberating this land, thousands of martyrs and wounded, and we will do more than that in order to defend our land and our dignity."
