Belgian delegation pledges assistance to the Serê Kaniyê  IDPs

Member of the Belgian Federation Parliament George Dalmani in a visit to the Washukani Camp clarified that the aim of such a visit to the camp is to convey a message by the people in north eastern Syria and the IDPs to the Federal Belgian Government and the European Union, and to put pressure to change the international public opinion to the sake of helping them.

A delegation from the Federal Belgian Parliament have paid a visit to the Washukani Camp home to thousands of IDPs from Serê Kaniyê and the neighboring villages, fleeing from the savagery performed by the Turkish Occupation Forces and the affiliated mercenaries of the so-called Syrian National Army more than a year ago. 

The delegation is made up of member of Belgian Federation Parliament George Dalmani and Philip Vanstitiskisit, and head of the International Association for the Victims of Terror Queen Misto, and the Executive Head of Child Focus the European Centre for Missing and Sexually Exploited Children, Hyde de paolo.    

The delegation was received in the camp by in charge of camps in north astern Syria Rojhat Ali and co-presidency of the Washukani Camp Stera Reshik, in addition to co-chair of the people of  Serê Kaniyê, Ala' Addine Cemil.

The visit was followed up by a meeting between the delegation and the management of the camp, where Rojhat Ali, in charge of camps in north eastern Syria, said : '' the Washkani Camp was set up by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, without any assistance from any international or humanitarian body in spite of rarity of resources'', and that '' IDPs in the Washukani Camp took part in battles against the ISIS mercenaries to the side of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS, but the international bodies and organizations never gave any help'' .  

Ali went on saying that'' in the camp of al-Hol and that of Roj, home to thousands of ISIS children and women, there are more than 34 international and humanitarian organizations, that give them assistance and basic needs, but there is not any to provide such basic needs to the camp of Washkani and that of Serê Kaniyê, home to IDPs from areas held by Turkish Occupation Forces and the affiliated mercenaries''.

From his part, George Dalmani said that the aim of such a visit to north eastern Syria is to convey a message by the people in north eastern Syria and the IDPs to the Federal Belgian Government and the European Union'', and that :

'' we always try to affect the international public opinion for the sake to move and  provide assistance''.

After that the delegation listened to demands of IDPs, and informed on the suffering in which they live.

Worth to note that the Belgian delegation arrived in north eastern Syria on December 4th, 2020, in accompaniment of representatives of some Belgian civil society associations.
