Xerabê Bodka and Kozka bear witness to heroism

Ruins left at the village of Xerabê Bodka and that of Kozka Ismail are still bear witness to savagery and vandalism by the Turkish Army against people in the two villages, and the heroic resistance performed by villagers who were able to stop other massacres to be committed after that of Elqemshi.

Since the ferman enacted by Sultan Abdul Hamid II, and even prior to that, Kurds were open to many massacres and genocides at the hands of Turkish Occupation Army, such as Dêrsim Suppression in 1937-1938, that cost lives of at least 40,000 people, and that of Elqemshi, 1926.

The policy adopted by Ottoman Turks and then by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, and now by Recep Tayyib Erdogan, of unprecedented extermination, annihilation and genocide, aims at subjugating and kneeling down the Kurdish people to deter them from their rights, of such crimes committed is that took place in Elqemshi, in 1926, in Bakur or Northern Kurdistan, that took the lives of thousand people.

Source say that after the village of Elqemshi was cordoned off, it was  set on fire, in retaliation for participation by it's people in the Sheikh Sa'eed of Palu Revolution, in 1925, where just 17 people survived the massacre and fled to Rojava or Western Kurdistan of whom some of the Bodka Tribe, where they settled at a village on the banks of Cirehê River, some 18 km to north eastern of  Tirbe Spiyê, and called the village Bodka, but Turkish soldiers, after knowing that crossed into Rojava, stationed artillery on the hill at Dêruna Qulunga and shelled the village.

When they took refuge in the Ma'shuq village the village was shelled again, where Ismail Hisê fought heroically with Umar Hisê, as a result,  the Turkish Army was defeated.

According to sources, they returned to Northern Kurdistan after a general amnesty was issued  by the Turkish State but left behind what was going to called Xerabê Bodka, and the place where the Turkish Forces defeated Kozka Ismail, that are still bear witness to both savagery of Turkish Army and heroism performed by locals.
