Child Protection Office in Qamishlo received 16 complaints, of which 4 resolved

The Child Protection Office in Armed Conflicts in the city of Qamishlo explained that the office has received 16 complaints, and four children have been handed over to their families, and said: “We are working to secure the necessary protection for children and rehabilitate them in the future, through rehabilitation courses for psychological support, and re-integrate them into society.”

he Child Protection Office in Armed Conflicts in the city of Qamishlo made a statement today to the public opinion, where co-chair of the Child Protection Office Medya Nasreddin read the statement at the Defense Office in Al-Jazeera region.

The statement read:

“We know every child residing in the regions of north and east Syria, and we prove to him/her that we are always ready to provide protection, safety and rights for him/her in a way that suits the revolution of northern and eastern Syria, and that we, in coordination with the United Nations, have issued a decision to create offices for the protection of children's rights in armed conflicts, which are nine offices throughout northern and eastern Syria. When the office receives a case, it is transferred to the General Office of North and East Syria, which in turn, coordinates with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the United Nations, UNICEF / the Recruitment of Minors and Child Labor section, but in particular (the recruitment of minors).

We have been notified of / 16 / complaints to the Qamishlo office to date, and / 4 / minors have been handed over to their families through this office.

We assure whoever submits a complaint to us regarding their underage children who have been recruited with their consent (or for other reasons) that we will work to secure the necessary protection and rehabilitate them in the future through rehabilitation courses for psychological support to re-integrate them into society, and we also explain to all media outlets and parents who submitted complaints that we are always ready to work to protect children's rights in northern and eastern Syria in coordination with the SDF and the United Nations, in accordance with the resolution of the Security Council.

The Child Protection Office confirmed that it is studying the remaining complaints now.
