Many people of Rojava, or Western Kurdistan, have had the honor to meet leader Abdullah Ocalan, that changed their lives and their role in society, and trying to gain their rights as Kurds.

Abdul Baqi Ali, a citizen from the Darbassiye  district, as many of the regions' people met leader Abdullah Ocalan, saying that words uttered by leader are still being echoed in his ears though many years have lapsed since then, and that such words have been transformed into reality on the ground.

Abdul Baqi says :'' it was in 1992, when for the first time I met leader Abdulla Ocalan in Egid Qorqemaz Academy, in Lebanon, we were a group of 18 people, all from the Jazira region'', adding ''we stayed with the leader for 24 hours, and though the staying was so short, but we were astonished by his  words and ideas, for he is the one advocates free thought for all components to live peacefully and freely''.

Abdul Baqi Ali indicates that philosophy and thoughts of leader Ocalan unified all components in north and east Syria who joined hands, to live and fight side by side, and the good instance for that is repellence to ISIS mercenaries.

Ali remembers that meeting saying:'' the leader was so humble, that made us admire him more, he is a n advocate for the Kurdish people that was open to persecution at the hands of the ruling regimes whose sole aim was to eradicate Kurdish culture and language'', making clear that '' the meeting lasted for a whole day, he was a humble and smiling man, we learned a lot from him''.

Abdul Baqi noted that the leader asked them to care for society, and to commit to norms and Kurd's culture, ''pay a good attention to the tribal notables in the region, and all what he said to us is being now applied on the ground in north and east Syria''.

Abdul Baqi concluded his words by saying: '' we just want that the leader had been here, we are in need of his free philosophy and ideas, the ideas he advocates are inconsonant with hostility, for that the Turkish Occupation State and others machinated such a plot to stop all components to call for their freedom and culture''.
