Joan Mustafa unveils total curfew within cities not regions

Co-chair of the Health Body of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Joan Mustafa, has made clear that total curfew would be applied within cities not regions, noting that service institutions, bakeries would proceed to work in compliance with the partial curfew decision.

Decision 198 was issued by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, that stipulates imposition of a 10-day total curfew in al-Hasaka, Qamishlo, Tabqa and Raqqa, as of Thursday, November 26th, 2020, until December 5th, 2020.

For more clarification on terms of the decision in question, co-chair of the Health Body, Joan Mustafa, was interviewed by ANHA. 

Mustafa indicated that curfew covers the following cities: Qamishlo and al-Hasaka in the Jazira Canton, and the two cities of Tabqa and Raqqa, due to increasing infection and deaths cases of the Covid -19 Pandemic in these cities. 

On timing of the decision, Mustafa made clear that :'' a timetable has been set for citizens to get their daily needs''.  

Mustafa noted that bakeries, pharmacies and service institutions besides media outlets are exempted from the total curfew, saying: '' service institutions and bakeries would proceed working within the given hours of the total curfew, as for pharmacists, they would work partially, and that the Health Body would coordinate with Pharmacist's Union for a rotation timetable''.     

Mustafa called on people to abide by the curfew decision, saying :'' there has been danger encircling the region, the situation becoming more serious, due to outbreak of Covid -19, on which we appeal to all people to take pre-emptive and cautionary measures and to abide by the decision in question''.
