In order to organize the Media work in the Autonomous Administration regions, and reduce the existing defect, especially with regard to the cards and tasks that are given to the journalists to facilitate their work, and in order for journalists not to be subjected to any harassment, the Media Office of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria issued today a circular, in which it explained the correct way to grant cards to the journalists in north and east of Syria.

The circular stated:

All the journalists in northern and eastern Syria are prohibited from using the old forms of media cards, whether those issued by the Supreme Council for Media, the cards of the Free Media Union, or the media cards of the institutions during the media work. The new unified model is adopted from the tasks issued by the Media Office in the Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria only, and the Internal Security Forces will confiscate the old cards, and are subject to legal accountability if they are used by the media.

- Any paper-based media assignments shall be canceled starting from the date of this circular, leaving only the new media mission approved for media work.

- All media missions granted by the Internal Security Forces to journalists are canceled, and new tasks are approved instead, and in special cases and circumstances, the Information Office in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria and in coordination with media offices in the Autonomous and Civil Administration, determines the appropriate procedure for dealing with the event and the form of coverage in coordination with the concerned parties.

- All cards issued by media organizations to their employees are considered a "membership card" that does not authorize them to work with it and use it in media coverage outside the organization.

The co-chair of the Media Office of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Amer Murad indicated in a statement to ANHA agency, that according to this circular, all old media cards and missions were canceled, and said, “Our goal is a common and unified model for media cards, especially since previous media cards used to cause a defect,” because it was issued by several parties, and for this reason, a unified model was developed for all the journalists, to avoid errors and the existing defect. "
