The Kurdish National Council (ENKS) requested on the first of last October to replace the curricula of the Autonomous Administration with the Syrian government's, and to end the system of co-presidency in the Autonomous Administration institutions in North and East Syria.

The teacher of General Chemistry at Vian Amara Institute in al-Shahba, Muhammad Alo, spoke about the importance of language, saying: "Since thousands of years, the Kurdish people have been deprived of the right to learn in the Kurdish language." He added: "After the revolution has started, we gained this right, and in order to protect it, we must have training because language is an essential element in the life of the Kurds."

Alo asked? "Why should we not exercise the right to learn and teach in the Kurdish language? The Kurdish people have struggled for a long time to achieve this goal, and the Kurdish National Council's demand is consistent with the Turkish state's policies that seek to exterminate the Kurds."

Our revolution is the Kurdish language's revolution

For her part, the History teacher at Vian Amara Institute, Media Brim, spoke about the goals of the Kurdish National Council: "The whole world knows that our revolution is the language revolution. Since thousands of years, our language is being exposed to annihilation, and at this historic stage, we are trying to revive our Kurdish language."

Media continued her speech: "The Kurds are always subjected to massacres and attempts of eradication, and one of them is the attempt of the Kurdish National Council (ENKS). Although they are Kurds, they serve the capitalist and personal interests of states. All of this explains their purpose to meet the occupation's desire."

Media concluded: "We want to learn our language, and we will continue to resist and struggle for it."
