Continued Turkish occupation crimes is hard proof to sign agreements

The co-chair of Zarkan District Council explained that the failure to stop the Turkish crimes indicates the existence of agreements between it and the Russian forces, and held the international community responsible for the security and safety of the population of the district and the region.

Zarkan district of the occupied city of Serêkaniyê in al-Hasakah canton is one of the areas located on the front line which are under constant attacks by the Turkish occupation and the mercenaries of the so-called "Syrian National Army" since their occupation of the area.

Despite the presence of guarantor forces, such as the Russian forces, in the region, in conjunction with American and international statements calling for the occupation to stop its attacks on the region, the latter is still violating all international agreements.

In this context, ANHA's agency held a meeting with the co-chair of Zarkan Nariman Abdo to shed light on the Turkish violations and their continuation despite the ongoing ceasefire agreements.

Nariman Abdo said at the beginning of her speech: "For a year, Zarkan district, has been under the Turkish attacks constantly, and shelling by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries."

Exodus its residents and making demographic change

The Turkish occupation seeks, in every region it enters, to change it demographically by imposing the Turkish language on the people, raising Turkish flags, in addition to imposing dealing with Turkish securities and imposing Turkish identities.

Nariman Abdo says: " Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries, through their attacks, aim to displace the inhabitants of the Zarkan region, as they did in the occupied city of Serêkaniyê, to change the region demographically and to house the families of mercenaries in the region."

They did not abide

Many agreements had been held between Turkey, Russia, and US extension of the state of emergency in northern and eastern Syria, and Turkey’s call to stop its crimes and attacks on the region, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries did not abide by these agreements

And noted that" despite all the demands to stop of the Turkish attacks on the region, but it was not implemented, is still continuing on its shelling."

Agreements sign under the table

Nariman added, "Russian forces are present in the region and have points in Zarkan district, which is one of the guarantor countries for the cessation of fire, but despite this, the occupation continues with its attacks before their eyes, and this indicates the existence of agreements between the active countries and the Turkish occupation under the table."

In her speech, Nariman Abdo called on the international community and human rights organizations to intervene to reduce and stop the crimes of the Turkish occupation, and to take their humanitarian duty to protect the peoples of the region and expel the occupation to return the people to their homes.

Nariman Abdo held US and Russian forces, who are considered effective forces in the region, responsible for the region's security and the safety of its people, and said: "It is the owner of the decisions and agreements that provide for stopping Turkish attacks, and it must abide by them and stop the barbarism of the occupation and its mercenaries."
