KOBANE – ZANA SAYDI

The resistance of dozens of fighters in Kobani against the expanding global threat of "ISIS" in the Syrian geography was met with sympathy worldwide, this pushed many countries to declare November 1 the International Day of Solidarity with the Kobani Resistance.

'ISIS ... and the besieged Kobani'

ISIS benefited from the media momentum that it was promoted as an indomitable force, in light of the collapsing military factions in major cities in Syria and Iraq, this sparked controversy over regional plans, in conjunction with ISIS attacks against the NE Syria regions.

The ISIS's attack on September 15, 2014 from 3 directions on Kobani, was one of the largest attacks it has ever launched since it started its operations in Syria and Iraq, with the participation of thousands of mercenaries.

The fear of the tragic scenario of Şingal massacre was dominant in Kobani, a few weeks before the start of its attacks on Kobani. Meanwhile the People's and Women Protections Units (YPG) and (YPJ) succeeded in evacuating nearly 300 thousand people from the villages of Kobani, in light of the numerical and military superiority of ISIS and besieging it from 3 sides, at that time, Turkey played role in besieging the city from north.

'declaring the World Day of Solidarity with the Kobane Resistance'

Kilo Issa, member of the Central Committee of the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Party, (SKDP) says: “The daily bloody scenes all over the world at the hands of ISIS, pushed them to support peoples that seek peace, that is why Kobani exemplified humanity hope in the face of that danger.”

The international community realized ISIS's threat, as millions of demonstrators around the world in 93 countries such as Argentina, Japan, Afghanistan, Egypt, Morocco and Turkey, along with most European countries, took to the streets in massive protests governments called for action in light of Kobane fighters' resistance.

November 1 was declared as the International Day of Solidarity with Kobane was declared as the demonstrations denounced in front of the Turkish embassies the direct Turkish support for ISIS.

While the leader Abdullah Ocalan's call for general alarm from his prison on the island of Imrali to defend Kobani, constituted a decisive turn in the battle that the Kurds considered "fateful".

Dozens of Kurdish youth entered the city to defend from all parts of Kurdistan, as well as international fighters joined the battle.

Kurdish people in northern Kurdistan; southeast Turkey played key role through the human wall on the borders with the city, in ending the siege on the fighters from the northern side.

'Kobane ... the starting point in defeating ISIS in Syria'

Following about 6 years of liberation of the city which met UN support, the solidarity of the components in NE Syria under the banner of the Syrian Democratic Forces, (SDF) in cooperation with the Global Coalition that was formed to eliminate ISIS, succeeded in ending the geographical presence of mercenaries and liberating large areas of Syrian territories.

The SDF announced the ISIS's defeat in its last strongholds, Al-Baghouz in the countryside of Syria's Deir ez-Zor on the border with Iraq, in March of 2019.

While dozens of news agencies, TV stations documented the strong relationship of the Turkish intelligence and ISIS in a plan to control areas in Syria and Iraq, most of which failed, except for the meager play between ISIS and the Turkish army in Jarablus and Al-Bab, as ISIS handed over northern Aleppo to Turkey without any battles or losses mentioned.

'Terrorism sponsored by Turkey ... threatens the world again'

The Co-chair of the Executive Council of the Euphrates Region, Muhammad Shahin, believes that "the democratic experience in NE Syria region led by autonomous administration was born from the womb of the Syrian crisis and Turkey views it as threat its interests based on the extermination of peoples in the region."

While Shahin called on the international community to realize the great danger of Turkey support for ISIS in the Middle East, where thousands of terrorists have been transferred to Libya and Azerbaijan, and they are also widely spread in Syria, and they are former leaders of ISIS, supported directly by Turkey and Qatar.

Turkey launched an attack on Serêkaniyê / Ras al-Ain and Girê Spî / Tal Abyad border regions in northeastern Syria, in the fall of 2019, months after ISIS was defeated, in a retaliatory attack for its losses according to many observers.

Mutual accusations between states and parties started about the supporters of these terrorist groups, but the West and the Middle East countries do not differ through some of the timid accusations that Turkey and Qatar are the main and direct supporters of ISIS.

At a time when the Turkish state is a springboard for thousands of terrorists spread in Syria, Iraq and North Africa, the danger against all countries of the world is expanding, as the invasion that affected the regions of northern and eastern Syria through which Turkey was able to release dozens of the most dangerous terrorists in the world from the prisons of the Syrian Democratic Forces, In addition to the ISIS families who fled in the hundreds of Ain Issa camp in northern Syria.

Matters did not differ for the Syrians, as video clips and pictures of former ISIS elements fighting alongside the Turkish occupation army showed control over the cities of Syria in the midst of international silence, in addition to the revenge operations whose approach and method of implementation did not differ from what ISIS did, such as killing the Secretary General of Future Syria Party Hevrin Khalaf and a number of citizens on the M4 international highway months ago.

Erdogan also re-launches threats to the West by sending waves of refugees, as he hides under the cloak of that term the terrorists that Turkey intends to send and threatens the security of European countries through them.

All of this comes at a time when reports indicate new activity by ISIS mercenaries in the Syrian Badia, and in the areas occupied by Turkey, after raising ISIS flags in the Serêkaniyê region.
