The official, who did not want to be named, told the Associated Press on Friday that Sudan agreed to designate "Hezbollah" a terrorist organization, although the joint US-Sudanese-Israeli statement on the normalization agreement did not address this issue.

The Sudanese side has not commented yet on the issue.

The United States and Israel are trying to persuade their partners to include the entire "Hezbollah" on the terror list.

Sudan became the third Arab state to do so as part of U.S.-brokered deals in the run-up to Election Day.
