Saleh Hido: Our schools and universities are legacy of our revolution; we will not give up on them

Member of the Joint Presidency of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), Aldar Khalil, who joined the BÛYER program on the Ronahi satellite channel noted that the Kurdish National Council proposes during the ongoing discussions between the council and the Kurdish National Unity parties, the necessity of stopping the educational system in northern and eastern Syria and re-teaching the curricula of the Damascus government.

"Our revolution is a revolution in language and culture, and our schools and universities are the legacy of our revolution."

In this regard, the Kurdish writer and researcher, Saleh Hido, explained that language is the basis of peoples’ existence, and that people without a language have no identity, and he continued by saying, "for ten years, the Rojava revolution has continued, and this revolution is the revolution of language and culture, a societal revolution, the revolution of brotherhood of peoples, salvation from oppression and persecution, and the revolution of peace and humanity and  opening institutes, universities and schools in the mother tongue now is the legacy of the Rojava revolution.”

“Those who reject the Kurdish language, then why are they Kurds?”

Saleh Hido expressed his wonder at those who refuse teaching in the mother tongue the Kurdish language in Rojava, and he said: “What do you want? Why are they Kurds then? Why do we fight then? Why would we sacrifice?” And he explained: “If we reject our language, then we are Arabs, Persians, and Turks, and there is no existence for our revolution. "

Salih Hido said, "I confirm that those who reject the Kurdish language agree and support what the enemy of the Kurdish people is seeking to achieve."

"We will not give up our language, nor will we close our schools and universities"

Kurdish researcher and writer Saleh Hido said at the end of his speech, "Our position is clear. Patriots and those who love their mother tongue will not give up the gains that have been made, and we will not give up our language." He concluded by saying, "We will not close our schools, we will not close our universities."

In turn, students and professors of the University of Rojava, with all its branches and departments, denounced the Kurdish National Council's proposals, and emphasized that achievements at the educational level in the past years are significant.
