The co-chair of the Legislative Council in the Democratic Civil Administration of Manbij and its countryside, Muhammad Ali Al-Abo, came during an interview conducted by Hawar News Agency.

Al-Abbou commented in the context of his speech on Turkish crimes against the inhabitants of the occupied territories, the Turkish efforts, the demographic change, and the theft of antiquities, as happened in Afrin and recently in Girê Spi / Tal Abyad by leveling the ancient hills under the pretext of establishing military centers.

New old Ottoman policy!

"The culture in Syria, which is known as the cradle of civilizations, has been plundered," he said. "There is systematic sabotage of Syria's history, looting of antiquities in the occupied areas, forcible displacement of indigenous people, looting of private property, and kidnappings and torture against the population."

He added, "In the city of Afrin, the indigenous people were displaced from their homes and the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation were housed there. These are systematic actions that are not new from Turkey, which wants to restore the Ottoman Empire, which was practicing the same violations on the peoples of the region."

Some figures and statistics indicate that the percentage of Kurds in Afrin has decreased to 20 percent of the total number of the current population, after it was more than 9 percent before the occupation, as a result of the Turkish occupation's deliberate displacement of the indigenous population, to be replaced by the families of mercenaries affiliated to Turkey coming from other Syrian regions.

Attempts to seize Syrian lands!

The co-chair of the Legislative Council in the city of Manbij and its countryside, Muhammad Ali Al-Abbo, spoke about attempts to completely give the occupied areas a Turkish character by following the policy of Turkification in Syria. "

He added, "Turkey wants to seize the occupied Syrian lands and annex them to its lands, and this has shown the exchange of the Syrian currency for Turkish and raising Turkish flags in all institutions and streets in those areas."

Activists and observers accuse Turkey of trying to divide the Syrian lands, despite Turkish officials’ claims that they are in Syria to protect its land and people, as they claim, but the steps on the ground from the policy of Turkification and demographic change, imposing the Turkish currency instead of the Syrian and appointing Turkish governors to manage the region, indicate the opposite what the Turks claim.

Inaction of international community!

Muhammad Ali was surprised by the position of the international community, and said, "A report was issued by the International Investigation Commission that spoke about the great and many violations committed by the Turkish occupation in the occupied territories, including forced displacement, looting of private property, cases of torture and demographic change in the region. All these matters were explained in the report, but we did not hear from the international community any reaction. "

He stressed the need for the Syrian people to preserve their dignity and for the Syrians to solve their problems, and not to allow Turkey to exploit the Syrians, as happens when they are used in Libya and Azerbaijan.

At the end of his speech, Muhammad Ali al-Abbo sent a message to those who go to Libya or Azerbaijan, saying, "If you are patriots, defend your land and take back the land occupied by Turkey and do not make of yourselves a commodity for the Turkish state."
