Today, Adonis Georgia, in statements published by Greek media, said that Erdogan "lives in a world of illusions and seeks to revive the Ottoman Empire."

The minister affirmed that Greece is "able to confront Erdogan's ambitions," stressing that Athens has made preparations for any confrontation, and added, "We do not fear Turkey and will not yield to threats."

The Greek minister's statement coincides with the launch of Turkish military maneuvers in the north of the island of Cyprus, in the latest episodes of tension between Turkey and Greece, the two countries that are members of NATO, which has continued for months.

Greece transferred the file of tension in the eastern Mediterranean to the UN Security Council, and its Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias said that it would brief the UN Security Council on Turkey's illegal activities.
