Within a series of kidnappings, extortion and demanding ransoms, the "Ahrar al-Sharqiya" mercenaries of the Turkish occupation kidnapped an elderly Afrin and took him to an unknown destination.

Local sources from inside Afrin reported to the human rights organization Afrin - Syria that the "Ahrar Al-Sharqiya" mercenaries of the Turkish occupation kidnapped the 58-year-old "Murad Rashid Muhammad", known as Murad Sheikh Muhammad, who is from the village of "Yalanguz" affiliated to Jinderesse district on 31 - 8-2020 while on his way from his village to the city of "Azaz".

The source added that the mercenaries stole his money, which is estimated at 1,250,000 Syrian pounds, during his kidnapping, as he was taken to an unknown destination.

The source added that the citizen Murad Rashid Muhammad had left Afrin after its occupation by Turkey and its mercenaries, and at that time he went to al-Shahba areas north of Aleppo and stayed there for a while, and then he returned to Afrin while he is well off and has properties and lands, where he was kidnapped on his return to Afrin by the mercenaries and was released two months after he was kidnapped and he paid a large ransom for it.

After that, the mercenaries kidnapped his son Muhammad al-Sheikh last year and released him after paying the ransom, accusing him of dealing with the previous administration, and then his son left Afrin.
