The delegation included the Co-Chairmanship of the Water Directorate, the representative of UNICEF in Damascus and the representative of the UNICEF Office in Qamishlo. The delegation was received by representatives of al-Hasakah City Council and the Water Directorate.

The visit came to ensure that the Turkish occupation had cut off the water from Alouk station, and during the visit, it was confirmed that the water of Alouk wells did not reach al-Hasakah after the statements announced by the Turkish occupation about the wells operating in Alouk.

The UNICEF delegation also inspected the wells that were dug by the Water Directorate in al-Hasakah canton in al-Hemma region, west of al-Hasakah.

The Turkish occupation began to cut off the water of the Alouk station which feeds al-Hasakah region after its occupation following the attack it launched on the regions of northern and eastern Syria on November 9, 2019.

Despite international appeals and the United Nations' request, the Turkish occupation did not open the Alouk station for nearly a month, which greatly affected the people of al-Hasakah, and to rectify the matter, the Autonomous Administration, al-Hasakah City Council and the Water Directorate rushed to find quick and urgent solutions. After great efforts and continuous work, 25 of the 50 wells within the "al-Hemma" project entered work to pump drinking water to the neighborhoods of al-Hasakah.
