Activists on social media launched a campaign of solidarity with the people of the city under the hashtag (Save Al-Hasakah ... Al-Hasakah without water).

Soon, the campaign was joined by Syrian and Lebanese artists who are considered among the most prominent stars through their participation and publication of the hashtag on their official pages on social media, expressing their solidarity with the people of Al-Hasakah and denouncing the Turkish occupation, including “Shukran Murtaja, Sulav Fawakherji, Dima Qandalaft, Amal Arafa, Basem Yakhour, Qusai Khouli, Maxim Khalil, Dalida Khalil, Nassif Zaitoun, Asala Nasri, Faya Yunnan, Nasrin Tafas "and many others.

In turn, the Syrian actress Ghada Bashour expressed her anger over the cutting off of water to Al-Hasakah.

She told the Syrian Al-Fan website: "More than a million Syrians have been suffering from thirst for twenty days, in a human crime that cannot be tolerated, at a time when we see the whole world watching and not moving."

She issued a distress call, "Please save AL-Hasakah from thirst." The situation is no longer tolerable. Save it before it is too late, save it from Turkey's criminality and the head of the gang Erdogan.

And she concluded: "We have been suffering for ten years, but in the end, only the right is true, and every occupier will drag the trails of disappointment and defeat on a land that has never surrendered."

It is noteworthy that the Turkish occupation deliberately cut off the water supply to Hasakah, with the increase in cases of Coronavirus in northern and eastern Syria.
