​​​​​​​Kobane ... 2 cases of Corona virus recovered

In the recent period, Kobane city witnessed a record of several cases infected with the Corona virus which required rapid intervention by the city's Health Body, and the formation of a scientific committee to combat this global epidemic that has spread to all parts of the earth.

The first infection recorded in the city was for a student who was coming from al-Jazeera region on August 8^th, and was followed by several cases of this virus until the total number reached 8 cases.

Dr. Ali Shaheen, the Spokesman for the Scientific Committee to Combat Corona in Kobane confirmed to our agency by phone that "Currently, we have 8 cases, of which 2 have been cured, and all those infected are quarantined in the special center for this epidemic in the city and under health care and supportive treatment. All cases are now stable."

Ali Shaheen indicated that "the two cases that recovered from this virus came out of quarantine, but they are currently in home isolation which will last for 14 days until it is confirmed that they are rid of the virus."

Ali added: "Currently, the PCR device is not activated in Kobane city, as a single center has been relied on to conduct PCR which is in Qamishlo city due to the sensitivity of the device as well as requiring high accuracy and a specialized cadre to conduct analyzes, and the other reason is to document infections officially in order to avoid making mistakes."

In order to limit the spread and undermine the spread of the virus, the Crisis Cell in the Euphrates region issued yesterday a set of decisions and recommendations to preserve public safety, most notably preventing the entry and exit from the Euphrates region.

The number of infected cases in northern and eastern Syria reached 253 after the announcement of new cases today in this region, including 36 recoveries and 15 deaths.

It is noteworthy that the city of Kobane has not recorded any deaths from this virus yet.
