Syrian intelligence stands behind assassination of Arab clan notables

The security forces of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) arrested Abd al-Razzaq Nawwaf al-Quti, against the background of the assassination of the local sheikhs and notables of the Arab clans in the Deir ez-Zor region.

The Furat News Agency held an interview with Abdul Razzaq Nawaf Al-Quti, who was arrested by the SDF while distributing leaflets in Al-Shaddadi area on July 29; Which included the establishment of a force called the "Armed Arab Resistance" to target chiefs and clan notables and councilors in the region.

Al-Quti, born in 1981 in al-Shaddadi district in Al-Hasakah canton, admitted during his interrogation that he joined the organization called the “Armed Arab Resistance” that was established by the Syrian intelligence, in the form of cells with the aim of assassinating clan sheikhs and the Co-chairs of local councils and members of the Court of Justice .

Al-Quti pointed out  : “The assassinations cell in Deir ez-Zor carried out its operation, but the assassinations cell in Al-Hasakah has not yet moved.”

He confirmed during his speech that the Syrian intelligence service had assigned him the task of assassinating clan leaders and members of the local councils of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria. He made the following confessions:

My brother is member of the Syrian security forces in the city of Al-Hasakah. I met the person called “Abu Muhammad” from the Political Security branch in Al-Hasakah on July 19 with my brother. There he spoke to the Syrian security man, “Abu Muhammad,” about a mechanism of assassinating the dignitaries and sheikhs of the Arab clans loyal to the SDF, where we were asked to carry out assassinations in complete secrecy, and my mission was to publish data on the assassinations, and on July 29, 2020 I received the data, and I in turn published it in the agreed manner; I used to throw it over the door without them seeing it, it was necessary to adhere to strict secrecy when carrying out these actions.

He added, "Syrian intelligence has established assassination cells in Al-Hasakah and Deir Eez-Zor, as well as armed rebellion cells under the name of" Armed Arab Resistance. "

The arrested al-Quti noted that the Syrian intelligence is directly behind these assassinations , but it was planned to carry out these assassinations in complete secrecy  under the name of "Armed Arab Resistance". And they are announced through posts.

Al-Quti emphasized that secrecy was one of the most important requirements of the work, and said: “We were not allowed to communicate with each other, except for a few people. I did not know the other people in the other cells.

There was a planned assassination in Al-Hasakah as well as in Deir ez-Zor.

Al-Quti said: “We saw what happened in Deir ez-Zor. Such operations should have taken place in Al-Hasakah as well, as there were names on the list, but the assassination cells in Deir ez-Zor and Al-Hasakah are not related to each other, and we did not know each other. ".

He continued: "My mission was limited to publishing the statements as I mentioned earlier, and so I was arrested, and I would then meet" Abu Muhammad "and he would introduce me to other people."

Assassinations were the primary task
