The second phase of the Deterring Terrorism continues in its third day, which was launched by the Syrian Democratic Forces to pursue ISIS mercenary cells in the eastern and northeastern countryside of the Syrian city of Deir-ez-Zor to complete the first stage.

And after the completion of the first phase of the Deterring Terrorism campaign launched by the Syrian Democratic Forces on June 4, which targeted the southern countryside of the city of al-Hasakah and Deir-ez-Zor desert, alongside al-Khabour to the Iraqi border.

The Syrian Democratic Forces, in coordination with Deir-ez-Zor Military Council and the Women's Protection Units and with the participation of the Internal Security Forces, launched their military campaign to pursue ISIS mercenary cells in the eastern countryside of Deir-ez-Zor, last Saturday, according to a written statement.

According to ANHA agency correspondent who are following the campaign, 28 people were arrested, in connection with the raids and combing operations carried out by the participating forces, between a suspect linked to ISIS mercenaries and mercenaries operating as cells.

"Our military campaign targets the dens of ISIS cells in the areas adjacent to the areas under the control of the SDF Sasson Toledlan, the leader of the SDF, told ANHA correspondent.

He added, "Our campaign is continuing and achieved many successes, through which dozens of targets were targeted in the towns of al-Basira, al-Zar, al-Shuhail, Dhiban, al-Hawaij, confiscating quantities of weapons and ammunition, in addition to seizing a number of intelligence agencies and mines."

The campaign continues, according to military leaders, until the completion of combing the targeted area, which is 4 km wide and 12 km deep, in the eastern countryside of Deir-ez-Zor.
