Yesterday, two separate meetings were held in Manbij city, to discuss the latest developments in the region, economic conditions, as well as the topic of women's violence and the role of women in economic development.

The meetings were attended by Ilham Ahmed, head of the Executive Body of the Syrian Democratic Council, in addition to dozens of families and members of institutions and committees affiliated with the Democratic Civil Administration in Manbij.

During the two meetings, the co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council executive committee, Ilham Ahmed, explained the current political and economic developments that the country is going through.

Ilham Ahmed said at the beginning of her speech that what Syria is witnessing is a third world war, and that the living crisis affected the people mainly, and the conditions of war in Syria are still continuing without prospects for a solution.

Ilham Ahmed added that the external forces hindered the solution to the Syrian crisis, and hindered reaching a solution formula agreed upon by all parties, to preserve the territorial integrity of Syria, and the participation of all Syrians in decision-making.

She also touched upon the Turkish occupation of northern and eastern Syria, and the continuing Turkish threats to occupy more areas.

Ilham Ahmed, President of the Executive Body of the Syrian Democratic Council, discussed during the meeting for women, which was held at the headquarters of the Council of Women in Manbij, the importance of enhancing the role of women in society, and in particular their role in economic development in light of the current economic conditions.

She also stressed the need for women to be the decision-makers to launch and implement economic projects.

The two meetings held at the Women's Council and the building of the Democratic Civil Administration in Manbij and its countryside concluded with discussions on the current political situation and how to reduce the manifestations of violence against women.
