Kurdistan Women's Community calls  for releasing prisoner

This was made in KJK's statement.

The statement read:

"At a time the world is busy addressing the new Corona virus's threat, the brutality of the AKP-MHP fascist regime has not diminished. On the contrary, it has become more vicious, and  sees the Corona virus as "the grace of God",  it has imposed a ban on the practice of art for fear of its positive impact.

The members of the Yorum band sacrificed their lives to be able to perform their art in democratic conditions in the country which the fascist regime of the Turkish state sees it as a threat. People are forced to sacrifice their lives so that they can express their art, where the freedom seekers Helen, Mustafa and Ibrahim died in protest of censorship policies and expressed their democratic condemnation and joined the convoy of martyrs.

As a member of Yorum, Ibrahim Qokjak presented his art with dignity under the circumstances of fascism. So we remember both Ibrahim Qojak, Helen and Mustafa Kojak with appreciation and respect and pledge that we will keep their memory in a free Kurdistan and a democratic Turkey.

The hunger strike in prisons has reached a critical level. The detainees that they will continue their activities until they reach a higher level. In order to prevent their death and meet their legitimate demands, public opinion and the people must demonstrate their democratic displeasure and take action to end their effectiveness.

There must be an international campaign for releasing the detainees.

The Corona virus has become a major threat to the lives of detainees in prisons. It is clear that many political detainees have been infected with the virus. The Turkish regime has released criminals, but political detainees have not been released as we have seen what happened to Sabri Kaya, although he remained in the emergency service for 20 days.

Political detainees are treated in immoral way, where the law is applied in accordance with the individual system by fascist leader Erdoğan. So tens of thousands of political prisoners are sentenced to death in solitary confinement under the spread of the coronavirus threat in prisons, where the Covid-19 inmates are placed in cells without food, shelter and hygiene.

Therefore, it is very important that public opinion and the families of tens of thousands of prisoners do their utmost to turn the freedom of political prisoners into worldwide a campaign. They should highlight these violations that occur in detention facilities.

Defenders, prisoners' families, human rights organizations and associations, political parties, civil society organizations and intellectuals should present this initiative and not abandon political prisoners.

Public opinion should be informed about Zainab Jalalian

There are also reports about political prisoners in Iran, where they are held in prisons dedicated to criminals  and comrade Zainab Jalalian has been arrested in this way. Her family told her by telephone that she had been transferred to several prisons and is now in the capital Tehran.  Her fate is unknown amid her family and public opinion concerns about her fate. So the Iranian authorities should inform the public immediately about her fate.

On this basis, public opinion must protest and organize events everywhere in order to free political prisoners in Iran, Turkey and around the world."
