SDC decries Afrin explosion demands international society to end Turkish occupation

SDC issued a statement to the public opinion regarding the huge bombing that hit on Tuesday the popular market in the city of Afrin and left dozens of civilians' victims, some of them were from indigenous people of Afrin. The statement stated:

"A popular market in the city of Afrin was subjected on Tuesday to a huge explosion that struck the occupied city of Afrin, resulting in the death and injury of dozens of innocent civilians, some of whom were indigenous people of Afrin, according to reports and preliminary information. This bombing also comes at a time when the city of Afrin is exposed to various forms of terrorism, like, killing, kidnapping, neither elderly nor youths were safe from atrocities, and the confiscation of the property and agricultural lands of civilians in order to displace them and change the city's demography through the systematic targeting of the security of its indigenous people. This bombing also comes in conjunction with the continued Turkish army and its factions in violation of the agreements concluded by Turkey with the two sides. US and Russian with regard to the ceasefire in the north and east of Syria, as in the incident, the Turkish army targeting HQ of Asayîş in Kobani; in addition to their conflicts to seize bounties of the country and stole the livelihood of the citizens.

We in SDC at a time condemn and denounce this cowardly terrorist act that targeted innocent civilians and threatens the remaining residents of Afrin to move and leave their villages and cities, we confirm that the Turkish occupation and relying on the factions that adopted the terrorist thought has opened the door wide open to the terrorist forces to organize their ranks It practices its cowardly actions under Turkish protection, and we also call on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities towards the Syrian issue and work to end the Turkish occupation of the city of Afrin and all other areas that it occupied; and to create the atmosphere to achieve a political solution guided in the relevant international resolutions, foremost of which is resolution 2,254 and an end to the conflict that has lasted for nearly ten years.
