TEV-DEM distributes aid to needy families

In the framework of the personal and institutional initiatives launched in the north and east of Syria to provide aid to families with low-income and limited income whose livelihood is based on daily earning, the Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM), today distributed food baskets in Qamishlo, Amuda and Darbasiyyah districts.

The initiative will continue until all families that have registered their names at the communes’ receive food baskets.

The member of the Democratic Society Movement, Ayed Ibrahim, explained that the distribution process is carried out in coordination with councils and communes, and indicated that they are eager to distribute food baskets to all needy families.

Each basket contains 12 rations of basic foodstuffs meeting each family’s needs.

All regions and districts of North, East and Syria are under curfew since March 23, as a precautionary measure to prevent the emergence of the new Corona virus in the region, which has spread in countries neighboring Syria, so the conditions of some families in the region, especially workers earning their livelihood on a daily basis, deteriorated.

In order to save these families from the curfew’s consequences, the Autonomous Administration announced providing support to them according to the available capabilities, and some of the well-off initiated the provision of aid.
