The citizens of Afrin region called on the international community and human rights organizations to disclose the measures they have taken to ensure the health and safety of leader Abdullah Ocalan and the rest of the detainees in Imrali prison from the Corona virus (Covid-19).

In this regard, ANHA's correspondent met with the people of Afrin in the homes who are following the decisions issued by the Autonomous Administration on the 23rd of March, which stipulates a curfew to preserve their safety from the Corona epidemic.

The citizen Hanif Sido, said: "The outbreak of the Corona virus around the world is of great concern regarding prisoners, especially the Imrali Prison, in which leader Abdullah Ocalan is imprisoned."

"The Corona virus is spreading in humid and non-exposed places, and we fear that the rooms of the Imrali prison located in the middle of Imrali Island in the sea are vulnerable to the appearance of Corona and thus threatening the lives of the detainees there," said Sido.

At the end of his speech, Sido appealed to human rights organizations and the international community to take the necessary precautions in an imperial prison to protect leader Abdullah Ocalan from the spread of the Corona virus worldwide, and all political prisoners in detention camps, and also demanded the lifting of the tight isolation of leader Ocalan and allowing doctors to visit him periodically and see on his health. "

In the same context, Citizen Mohammed Ali said: "We are now in light of the curfew in al-Shahba district, and we adhere to the instructions and decisions issued by AA, so we ask (What will happen to the situation of leader "Abo" in the light of the outbreak of the Corona epidemic?"

Ali added to his speech, saying: "What are the measures taken by human rights organizations with regard to an imperial prison?? We do not know what his situation is due to this isolation, as there are many conspiracies being planned against leader Abdullah Ocalan, then they arrested him, then imposed isolation on him, then the fire has been deliberately fabricated in the island, so we call on human rights organizations to shoulder their responsibilities and take measures to protect detainees in Imrali Prison. "

On her part, Citizen Leyla Adnan spoke, saying: "The Corona virus has spread throughout the world, and curfews have been imposed in almost all countries, and they are taking the necessary measures to limit its spread, so we want human rights organizations to intervene and take measures in the Imrali Prison, where the leader Abdullah Ocalan and two of the detainees are being arrested."

It is worth noting that leader Abdullah Ocalan has been imprisoned for 21 years in Imrali Prison under an international conspiracy against him on 15 February 1999.
