1st stage of curfew is applied in al-Jazeera region

The Autonomous administration issued several decisions to confront the spread of the Corona pandemic in the regions of northern and eastern Syria, which it started to close schools, universities and border crossings, and then canceled travel between the cities in the region, in addition to imposing a curfew starting from Monday.

The ban on movement between cities entered into force today, with the suspension of all civil institutions, schools, garages and transportation, as well as border crossings.

The decision excludes the public and private health center, international organizations, the Red Cross, pharmacies, sterilization committees, municipality and bakery workers, foodstuff stores, food trucks, baby milk and fuel tankers.

In order for the people in cities and regions other than their city to be able to return to their homes in Al-Jazeera region, buses have been designated today to transport citizens before a total curfew is implemented tomorrow.

And based on this decision, the Internal Security Forces began taking the necessary measures to alert citizens and direct them in order to limit movement and prevent curfews.

In this context, ANHA Hawar News Agency had a meeting with the co-chair of the Interior Ministry in al-Jazeera region, Kanaan Barakat, who said at the outset of his speech, "We, the Internal Affairs Authority in al-Jazeera region, are part of the implementation of this decision.

Barakat also pointed out that there is a simple movement, which is the exit of citizens from the city of Qamishlo and going to their homes in other regions, whether in Amouda, Al-Hasakah and others, noting that from tomorrow, there will be a complete curfew except for cases of extreme necessity.

Barakat also mentioned that instructions have been issued to the Internal Security Forces that any person or any institution that violates the decisions issued by the Autonomous Administration regarding the curfew will be referred to the competent courts to decide their matter.

At the end of his speech, the co-chair of the Interior Ministry in Al-Jazeera, Kanaan Barakat, said, "Our commitment to maintaining calm and not moving at this stage is by taking a challenge to this disease by itself."

Checkpoint’s security official in the city of Hasaka, Ibrahim Mohamed, said, "Today, we started implementing the curfew in the city of Hasaka, for the safety and security of citizens and to avoid the spread of the new Coronvirus."

The curfew that started at 6 am ensures that cars and vehicles do not travel between Hasaka and other cities, except for international organizations that will move according to official missions issued by the self-administration.

Ibrahim Mohamed called for adherence to preventive and security measures for their safety.

In turn, the administrator at Hassakeh Garage, Ghosoun Hamad Al-Hajj said, "Based on the circular issued by the Administration to stop traffic between cities and avoid the spread of Corona virus, we have done our part and stopped buses and Pullmans in the city."

Ghosoun hoped that the people would cooperate with this decision, and asked them to stay this period indoors in order to preserve their health and safety.

A car belonging to the Qamishlo City Council also toured all the streets of the city to alert citizens and direct them to abide by the decision issued and not to leave their homes in the interest of their safety.
