The Dignities Body of the northeastern of Syria issued a written statement rejecting statements of the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, in which he denied the existence of the Kurdish issue in Syria.

The statement said:

"At a time when the Syrian people, with all their components, are looking forward to a political solution that will lead to a pluralistic, democratic Syria in which preserve  the individual and collective rights of all its components and  address all the issues , the Syrian president has come up with a statement that eliminates some of the original components of the Syrian people, who have played a prominent role in achieving independence and the building of a modern Syrian state.

"We, as the Dignities Bodies of the northeastern of Syria, had the initiative to emphasize the national principles of the unity of the country, reject the occupation and foreign presence, and activate the serious Syrian-Syrian dialogue as the beginning of the solution."

"The components of the Syrian people in the north and east of Syria with their Arabs, Kurds, Assyrians and all the components that exist are authentic and coexist in their areas with each other before drawing the borders of the current Syrian state. Therefore they did not come from any other spot and no one can outbid on its patriotism and Syrian affiliation."

"The Syrian president's statements do not serve to build Syria as a true citizenship state and get out of the crisis," she said. The Syrian state has failed in its duty to protect the security of its citizens in the northeastern of Syria but they have been able to build a participatory Autonomous Administration that has been and continues to be a bulwark to defend the homeland against occupation and terrorism and is seriously seeking to move to a democratic, pluralistic and decentralized Syria."

The statement stressed that the mentality of denying the legitimate rights of the Syrian components "especially the existence of the Kurdish component to satisfy some external forces" does not contribute to the building the state of rights and dignity, but rather worsens the situation.

"The stability and maintenance of Syria passes through the democracy of Syria, granting the Syrian citizen individual and collective rights, constitutional recognition of the right of the Kurds and the rest of the components, and the resolution of the Kurdish issue as a democratic solution within the unity of the country and the direction to solve and build Syria away from the mentality that is not the way to historical facts."
