In the presence of dozens of members of the Social Justice Council, the member of the Lawyers Union in Manbij Ahmed Hajji Mahmoud read the statement in front of the Justice Council building.

The statement included:

On Thursday 27-02-2020 and in mysterious circumstances, Imrali Island, in which the struggler and thinker Abdullah Ocalan is arrested with five of his struggling comrades, was exposed to an arson, and since 2011, the Turkish government has been preventing the struggler and his comrades' lawyers and families from visiting them to see their conditions in prison because of Abdullah Ocalan's ideology, especially the ideology of the democratic nation's project that the people of the Middle East aspire to, so that the Turkish state was not limited to pressure, isolation, and the seizure of freedom, but also set fire to put pressure on the free will of the struggle.

And previously, they have tried to assassinate the leader Abdullah Ocalan with poison and he was subjected to direct threats from anonymous sides. All this to eliminate his thought because he has become a threat to the Turkish state, but they will not be able to silence the voice of the right thought, as the struggler Abdullah Ocalan said: "I am physically imprisoned, but intellectually free."

The Social Justice Council, the Women's Council for Social Justice and the Lawyers Union in Manbij called on the international community and human rights organizations to put pressure on the Turkish government urgently to reveal the fate of the leader Abdullah Ocalan and his fellow detainees.

The Council also called on the international community and human rights organizations to conduct their role demanding the release the leader Abdullah Ocalan, in implementation of the provisions of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights in 1976, Article 3th which states that everyone has the right to freedom and security of his person, and the Article 5th which states that no one shall be subjected to torture nor to cruel or inhuman treatment or punishment.

In its statement, the Council appealed to the European Committee against Torture to implement the Convention against Torture issued in Resolution No. / 39/46 / in 1984 and to break its silence regarding the crime of arresting the leader Ocalan, and to bear its responsibilities stemming from the principles of international law and justice.
