PYD: Osman Suleiman fought for cohesion among Syrian components

The General Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) issued a statement on the 12th anniversary of the martyrdom of Professor and (former) Member of the People's Assembly Osman Suleiman "Osman Dadli", who was martyred as a result of torture suffered by the Baath regime on February 18, 2008.

The statement referred to the struggle of martyr Othman Suleiman for the cohesion between the Syrian components in their Kurdish, Arab, and Syriac and Turkmen, explaining " he was a friend of all to resort to him when needed, and for this he became a prominent social symbol in the north and east of Syria, with his popularity he become a member of the Syrian People's Assembly, with votes of people When the regime allowed a margin of freedom in the 1990 legislative elections, giving him an opportunity to move and communicate, from the Syrian coast to the south in Daraa and As-Suwayda."

The statement pointed to the active role of martyr Osman Suleiman within the Democratic Union Party since its founding, pointing out that he was an active member within him, working for national community unity, and this was what the Chauvinism upset of, and became targeted by them, and imposed on him various pressures.

He was arrested more than once, most recently on 27 February 2007 by the Political Security Branch in Aleppo city, until he was martyred as a result of torture and abandonment.

At the end of its statement, the Democratic Union stressed the continuation of the path of martyr Osman Suleiman until their goals are achieved in establishing a free and democratic society that includes all components and affiliations within the crucible of the democratic nation.
