And ended yesterday evening, the Russian-Turkish talks in Ankara on the escalation in Idlib, where the Turkish Foreign Ministry announced that it was agreed to continue the discussions during the next week, which indicates that it did not achieve any understandings.

Russian-Turkish differences

These discussions came after a major escalation in a region called a de-escalation according to the Russian-Turkish vision, where the regime forces took control of several areas, including the city of Maarat al-Numan and the town of Saraqeb the two strategies.

During the attacks on Saraqeb, tension escalated between the regime forces and Turkey, where Turkish soldiers were killed by the regime forces, while Erdogan announced the bombing of the regime forces' sites in response.

The dispute between the regime and Russia on the one hand and Turkey on the other hand is centered on the interpretation of the Sochi and Astana agreements, as Russia accused Turkey of delaying the implementation of the agreements and that it wanted to implement them by force.

In its turn, Turkey said: The regime and Russia have broken the agreements during the recent attacks, and Erdogan said that there is no longer anything called the Astana and Sochi agreements.

According to observers, Turkey is seeking to reinforce its presence (control points) in the vicinity of international roads (M4, M5) and therefore the regime forces should withdraw from the town of Saraqeb.

And international roads mean a lot to Russia and the regime, as it has achieved a military, political and economic victory.

Recent developments have shown that the Turkish position has become weak in front of Russia, as its options have become limited, and it has sought to exploit the issue of refugees and European anxiety.

Failure of the talks ignites the field … Russia bombs and Turkey strengthens

After the meeting, the field flared up, as the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) monitored the continued aerial bombardment of several areas in the Aleppo countryside.

Russian warplanes launched after midnight Saturday - Sunday morning, intense raids on Rahal Society, Kafr Nuran, the vicinity of Kufernaha, the vicinity of Urm al-Kobra, and Mansourah, rural Aleppo in the southwest and southwest.

In a related context, sources reported that a new Turkish military convoy consisting of tanks, military vehicles and ammunition entered today in Idlib.
