Two counterfeiters arrested in Raqqa

The Internal Security Forces in the city of Raqqa arrested counterfeiters of the dollar currency, and seized in their possession 29,400 US dollars.

The media office of the Internal Security Forces for North and East Syria published on its official website, according to which it was reported that the Organized Crime Office in the city of Raqqa yesterday managed to arrest counterfeiters of the dollar.

The two people who were arrested were working in promoting counterfeit currency, within the markets before they were reported, and gathering information about the nature of their work and transfers.

The administrator official for combating organized crime stated, "He did not reveal his name," that the two persons had in possession of an amount of 29,400 USD forged, as they were referred to the Public Prosecution Office in Raqqa as appropriate.

It is noteworthy that the internal security forces in northern and eastern Syria managed during the year 2019 to seize many networks of counterfeiting the Syrian currency and the dollar and took legal measures against them.
