Since last Thursday, 6 civilians, including a child from the village of Qarat Wiran, have been faced with an unknown fate after being kidnapped by mercenaries from the so-called “Euphrates Shield” stationed in Sheikh Nasser village in the occupied countryside, east of the city of al-Bab, while the people harvest the olive crop located in the seam lines among the fighters of Al-Bab Military Council, and Turkish occupation's mercenaries.

The kidnappers were: “Abdul Karim al-Aboud, Ali al-Jasem al-Aboud, Mohammad Ali al-Aboud, Alaa al-Mohammad al-Aboud, Mahmoud al-Mulla, and the child Hammoudi Ahmed al-Ali, who is 11 years old,” whose fate is still unknown, in addition to stealing the mercenaries of their car.

A resident of Qarat Wiran Abdul Basit Ramadan commented on the incident of the kidnapping of his village people during a meeting was held by Hawar news agency (ANHA).

Abdul Basit pointed out in the beginning of his speech that: “Al-Bab Military Council fighters assist civilians and provide them with facilities to harvest their olive crops every year, as civilians are allowed to enter the seam areas to harvest their crops, but the Euphrates Shield mercenaries kidnapped civilians, including men, women, taking them to military bases of the Turkish occupation in the occupied areas, and their fate remains unknown.

He commented on the incident of the kidnapping of civilians from his village, explaining that the people in the area routinely request and at their own responsibility from the fighters of Al-Bab Military Council to allow them to harvest the olive crop, and the fighters of Al-Bab Military Council take its measures to secure a safe path for civilians to reach their lands, and they also count the number of civilians going to harvest the crop to make sure of their return.

And he emphasized that this routine happens daily throughout the olive harvest season, but the Euphrates Shield mercenaries on Thursday infiltrated the dense olive trees towards civilians who harvest their crops from the northern side and kidnapped 6 civilians, including a child, without any reason, and transported the working women in the land of the olive, to the city of Manbij, after they kidnapped the men who were driving the car.

He stated that during the season of last year, the Euphrates Shield mercenaries attempted to steal a car, and kidnapped 35 workers picking olives, in the neighboring village of al-Kawakli, but Al-Bab Military Council managed to liberate them and return the car.

He affirmed that the goal of the "Euphrates Shield mercenaries" from kidnapping civilians is to demand financial ransom from their relatives, as the only goal of mercenaries is to earn money in all inhumane ways, and they repeat this season to rob civilians of their money and to displace civilians and deprive them of their right to their land and livelihood.
