“To guarantee Kurds’ future, we must seek to unite ranks”

The Intellectuals Union in al-Hasakah canton organized a dialogue forum to discuss the unity of the Kurdish rank, in the presence of a number of Kurdish parties in Syria, members of the Legislative Council, members of civil society organizations, an elite of writers and intellectuals, and Kurdish tribal elders, in addition to several independent cultural and political personalities, at al-Nukhba (the Elite) Restaurant in al-Hasakah city.

The seminar was managed by the co-chair of the Democratic Society Movement, Zalal Cîger, the member of the Central Committee of the Kurdish Left Party in Syria, Aziz Ahmo, and the Secretary of the Kurdish Democratic Union Party in Syria, Abdel Kareem Seko.

The symposium centered on the necessity of the unity of the Kurdish class, and the reasons that hindered the formation of the unity of the Kurdish class despite the repeated calls from the Kurdistan National Congress and a number of Kurdish parties.

The seminar's directors explained, “We will be in the midst of struggles if we do not reach a result for the unity of the Kurdish rank. We, as Kurdish people, need for this unity because the occupied countries of Kurdistan are cooperating to exterminate these people.”

They noted, “The people in northern and eastern Syria have paid thousands of martyrs the price of freedom and protection of these people, but we as Kurdish parties and a Kurdish people have not reached a single opinion and one movement, even though we are going through a new political phase, and we as a Kurdish people should take our place at this stage.”

They emphasized that the Kurdish people in its four parts continued struggling to obtain the rights of the Kurdish people. They said, “To protect and obtain our rights, every Kurdish individual must give up their personal interest, and start a new stage that serves the Kurdish people.”

The participants drew attention to the work of some Kurdish forces and personalities against the interests of the Kurdish people with the enemies, including the Turkish occupation state that occupies and kills the Kurdish people. They indicated the necessity of all Kurdish parties taking the Turkish threats seriously and moving towards the unity of the Kurdish class.

Then, the dialogue was opened by the administrators of the symposium in front of the attendees, where the attendees stressed the necessity of the unity of the Kurdish class, and that the Kurdish people united their ranks, but the Kurdish parties had not reached a unified result yet, and they said, “The future of the Kurdish people is linked to the unity of the Kurdish class and to ensure their future, they should seek unity.”
